El Juego de las Llaves is a half-hour drama-comedy based on the lives of millions of couples with intimacy problems driven by long-term monogamy, self-fulfillment, and desire. The series focuses on the story of four couples, all in stable relationships, who venture into a game of sexual discovery by exchanging spouses while trying to free themselves from their daily routines and spice up their love lives. As each travels through his or her own secret desires, the game takes on a life of its own and the couples must face the impact of their decisions and their own perspectives on sexuality.
Very enjoyable to watch and with some depth as well
This TV series reminds me a lot of sex and the city as it has the same sense of humour and mainly centres about sex in the first place - which makes it very enjoyable to watch. But then it is very different as all main characters are in a stable relationship and the storylines focus on the development of those which gives this show some depth. What do you do if you figure out that one has grown apart but you still love each other - maybe in a different way over time? What to do while the clock of live is ticking and you want to experience romantic love again or follow personal preferences that cannot be lived out in the current partnership? All these story lines are told in a very humorous way and with much love of the characters, which are all very good looking and likable. And here comes the minus point of this show. It is not a reflection of real live. It plays in a somewhat superficial world of the rich and beauty and this is probably the main reason why this show hasn't received a higher rating. But if you can overlook that, it is a pure pleasure to watch this series.
