The president of the Association for the Study of American Archaeology is murdered on the eve of announcing a successor. Now it's down to Emma Fielding to find the killer.

While hosting the annual gathering of the Association for the Study of American Archaeology at Kenzer College, Emma Fielding is thrust into the midst of a murder mystery when the President of her organization is poisoned on the eve of announcing her successor. FBI agent Jim Conner is guest speaker on forgeries at the annual meeting of the prestigious Association for the Study of American Archaeology (ASAA) which his friend professor Emma Fielding was organizing. President Dr. Althea Harrison was to announce her successor after ten year, but dies during her speech from frog South American poison. professor Bob Biberman, an outsider in the running, brought such frogs from a recent field trip, but Emma's best student assistant Joe, who was working as a waiter, provides a perfect alibi. Someone described like Biberman was seen around when a truck carrying spectacular Precolombian finds for main candidate professor Scott Thompson was destroyed. Emma's top assistant Joe postulated to join the secret 'Order of Bacchus' frat, but left when asked for an illegal initiation rite, unlike silver spoon numskull Milton Oberland, who nearly fell to his death attempting to steal the museum's showstopper, the Kenzer skull, part of a crucial series of artifact thefts and associated crimes.—KGF Vissers
