Trivia
As well as all boats flying the local flags, Clarkson's replica PBR flies the Cook Islands flag and May's wooden cruiser flies the British Red Ensign (until it broke off).

Goofs
All of May's and Hammond's flimsy excuses notwithstanding, they both had of course "done" plenty of boat projects on Top Gear before, including attempts at channel crossings in cars converted into boats in rough weather.

Great special, something missing

I would like to start by saying this was a good episode. I enjoyed the premise, the adventure was interesting, and each host was engaging. My problem with the episode is that what makes this crew better than the rest is how they interact together, there was very little of that this time. Also, why I like most of the people who enjoy watching this trip do enjoy seeing them push their limits, the extremes they went to this time felt too far. Seeing them beet down and defeated despite their survival and accomplishment isn't entertaining. It doesn't make me look forward to their next adventure, instead it makes me worry if they will have a next adventure.
