Storyline

Young parents Dave and Rebecca are ready to reclaim their life after years of diapers and sleepless nights. However, things take an unexpected turn when Dave's parents show up unannounced and broke, leaving Dave with no choice but to open the door to the people who gave him everything. But these boomerang parents aren't great with boundaries and the question of who's parenting whom quickly blurs in this multi-generational comedy starring Fran Drescher and Adam Pally as mother and son.

How did this pilot get greenlit?

The show really looked to have potential, but it just fell flat in reality. The parents are tirelessly overplayed to the point where you just do not care about the characters.

I think the series would have worked better if they had 'Fran' as a widow who lost her money/savings from medical bills treating her husband before he passed away. At least there would be an ounce of sympathy for the character and a hope that she rebounds. She would become the intruding mother/mother-in-law who, through some well written plot lines would help solve the crisis of the day for the family and bring a warmth to the overall story.
