When Barry and Maureen are in the existing master bedroom, Maureen says [about Mike and Carol Brady], "They were the first couple EVER in TV history to share a bed." This is simply not true.

In the early episodes of I Love Lucy (1951), circa 1951, the Ricardos shared a king-size bed, made by pushing two twin beds together; the bedding was tucked in, down the middle, creating a sort of barrier, but they were in a bed together.

In First Stop (1955), Ricky and Lucy are shown struggling to get comfortable in the cabin's one, dilapidated full-size bed. Then, Fred and Ethel offer to take it; they go through elaborate preparations to make it comfortable. Ethel notes that it's just like their bed at home--and they do this routine every night.

In My Three Sons (1960), beginning in season eight [1967, two years before the Brady Bunch debuted], Robbie and Katie Douglas slept in a king-size bed--and conceived triplets in it. Later in the series, after Steve and Barbara get married, and Chip and Polly get married, they, too, are shown sharing marital beds.
