So, here we go again: if IMDB had an option to
hide the current rating of a film, i would gladly
check it and never see any rating again. This film deserves so much more.
It was good, suspenceful and well written. Ok, you may identify the "twist" early in the film, but... you don't expect the ending.
Kudos.

Another unrealistic movie with a good plot but with scenes in contradiction with others. I agree that it was very difficult to turn this story into a movie, and in that way, it is successful. But the "strange" or irrelevant scenes spoils the plot too soon. I didn't watch the trailer and I was like: "no impossible", "why then this happens?" "Don't tell me all that for that?" "Oh no!" And then a final disappointment as many people here...
So I understand the harsh ratings and the good ratings. Hence 5.5 is fine average. I wanted to put 5 but I added 1 point because it made me dive in at some point and this is why I watch movies...
The movie makes you think and try to figure out what is going on the whole time. I reckon you can guess certain things ... way before the main character has figured them out for sure. But the main thing about this, the journey is the thing that will be interesting and worth going along with.
There are clues for certain things and I would say one of them is quite early on ... between the lines one might say, without giving away too much. There are other things that may be interesting to see a second time around, because the way they play out seem improbable.
All that said, I really liked the movie. I was taken a bit back by the accents and sometimes lack of emotion that was unable to create. Still there is much tension here and a lot of things to cheer or hate this for. Like towards the end being completely against what the main character does ... "going back" of sorts ... turns out it was the "right" thing to do ... well there are some puns for you.

With the brand''x'' stamped in the forehead. Its a well hidden story about a childhood misery, a lovestory and a tale about a murder. Its very well conducted, filmed and acted at all levels, in a typical european way of cloaking a plot.so if you havent read the book it has its surprising twists. So its a recommend from the ever so grumpy old man.
2020 and 2021 has been really hard on me as a movie lover with few films and fewer ones with quality or fresh plot. But this one comes as fresh air. The quality is good and portrays perfect balance between mystery thriller and psychological aspects. It's not a jumping off the skyscraper with a racing car film, It's a slow paced and based on intellectual dialogues. Though it is slow, I never felt a boring moment and was edger to see what happens next. And yes the logic of it for some part has plot holes or just hard to explain and might be predictable at times, but it's a quality work and deserves credit.
