    Meh

How original and interesting is an iconic character like Annie Wilkes?

Now how interesting is another zombie apocalypse, and howmany versions of those have we seen in the last 10 years? 364?

This 2nd season's first half was almost all about a well done origin story of the iconic and classic character Annie Wilkes. Which was so well done by writers and actress I was in constant danger of falling off the edge of my seat! Now in the second half of this season I have watched the focus gradually just completely switch from Annie Wilkes to another zombie-fest. Untill in this episode I see Annie just completely vanish among the other characters and I'm thinking: well, she might just as well be Liza Minelli or Katie Couric now, it wouldn't make one damn piece of difference no more. This episode just had me laying back in my chair, putting in some work to keep my attention there.

I'll give the writers a slight benefit of doubt since they did such a great job in the first half of this season. Maybe they have an awesome Annie Wilkes focussed surprise for me in the upcoming last episode. But the way things are right now I'm not counting on it. As it is, I will be around for the last episode just to see if 'they' still managed to escape the zombies or not and I will probably be thinking: meh.

EDIT: I have upped my rating from 6 to 8 because they did it!! The final episode made everything right, so I take back my complaints about this episode!

The Episode Was Saved At The End

This episode didn't fit well with the rest of the series. A gun battle with an army of 400 year old undead villagers seems a bit silly. However I appreciate what the writers did with Pop's character at the end of the episode. Because of that I'm bumping what was a 6/10 episode up to a solid 8/10.

    I've enjoyed Season 2...

The focus on Annie and Joy made the first half of the season spectacular. Sadly this episode reverted it to a cliche Walking Dead style body count and the back story of the adopted kids and father seems tacked on and isn't that compelling in a Stephen King story. I'm hoping the producers realize how engaging Lizzy Caplan's screen time was for the audience and has carried much of the material, having her character feature so little in this episode I like others was simply waiting for it to finish. Here's hoping for a strong finale and this was the needed filler to bridge the conclusion of Season 2. Still love the show.

    Zombie zombies zombies

This show has gone from being creepy and claustrophobic to a action packed zombie movie. Barricaded inside with a horde of "brain dead" angel followers is not very creepy. I really don't feel like gun fights and explosions belong here. Just end this season soon please.
