Sex & Nudity

  • In the beginning of the movie, we see Shaun waking up, wearing a pair underwear. His bare chest is shown and legs are shown, but nothing else.
  • There is a mention of a vagina - meant to be humorous (context of giving birth)
  • Shaun is seen shirtless at several points in the movie. Once a woman comments on this.
  • brief nudity- a man's butt is shown.

Violence & Gore

  • Frequent and excessive moderate martial-arts style combat, involving hand-to-hand combat as well as the use of real-world weapons and magical fantasy weapons
  • An alien is stabbed and than ripped apart (gore is shown).
  • Some characters are killed.
  • Weapons including guns, spears, bow's, and explosives, are used.
  • A man is stabbed.
  • There are a couple of injuries/death. Frequent peril and danger
  • People are pursued by monsters.
  • A bus hits and crushes several cars and destroys many things in the process.
  • Several deaths occur onscreen, although there is no gore.
  • People are assasinated (from afar) by sniper fire, explosions, etc.
  • A man pleading for his life is fatally hit while a child watches.
  • In a bar fight, a 7 year old child watches as a man brutally beats up several other men, implicitly killed. One man is shown with a bloody face, and then is hit violently (off screen), again likely killed. Probably the darkest scene of the movie, but overall film stays away from blood and gore.
  • And mother is killed then the dad kills them in a brutally way


  • 1 quick use of "goddamnit".
  • Minor profanity including "a**", "sh*t"
  • One use of the middle finger gesture.
  • The word "Shit" is said a few times.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Glimpse's of people drinking.
  • A grandma's cigarettes are discussed briefly
  • Some of the main characters are seemingly drunk at a karaoke venue.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A young boy is repeatedly whipped by his father's bodyguard during training. This scene comes off as intense and emotional.
  • Some dark moments but overall this sort of lighter but still very action heavy
  • The violence, fighting, and deaths throughout may be frightening for some viewers, although there is minimal blood or gore.
  • The ending is quite intense.
  • Morris is a grotesque-looking creature without a face, may creep young children out.

  • A young boy watches as his mother fights several men, and is eventually killed, although all the fighting is offscreen.
  • Several people are killed by having their souls removed from their bodies by evil creatures.
  • Soul-sucking monsters kill a lot of people, both on and off screen. Non-graphic.
  • At the 1 hour and 47 mark a guy gets stabbed in the chest then soul sucked out shown for 20 seconds quite graphic
  • Shang-Chi watches his father die in front of him towards the end of the battle
  • A mother is killed and her husband seeks revenge by brutally killing the people who did it by slamming them into walls, throwing them off windows and beating them up. The film shies away from blood and gore and even though this scene is not gory it is still pretty dark since a child watches it as it unfolds.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A young boy watches as his mother is killed, and her family mourns over the body.
  • A young boy watches as his father beats and likely kills several men.
