- Pig and Duck are next-door neighbors, but worlds apart.
- When Pig's free-spirited and energetic new neighbor Duck plunges himself into Pig's quiet, orderly life, Pig learns that having friends is what he has been missing all along.
The Pig on the Hill takes place in Topton, a tourist destination perched on the very top of Toppington Heights and offering unimpeded views of the world-famous Pointy Valley. It's absolutely miles from anywhere else and has therefore attracted a charming population of oddballs like Pig and Duck. Life in Topton is a quirky blend of a small English village mixed with rickety steam-punk silliness. Everyone does their own thing which is reflected in every building being unique. EXTRACT FROM TOPTON TOURIST BROCHURE "...The town can be reached via the spiral road up from Topton Bottoms, the terrifying Mole-Mining(TM) bucket-lift, or from Topton international airship-port where passenger balloons arrive - as often as once a week! Taking pride of place in the town square is the statue of famed explorer, Lady Turtle Toppington, who first climbed the heights. It shows her being served tea and cucumber sandwiches at the summit by her butler.
Pig on the Hill is a unique vision of neighborliness. Everyone in Topton is different and doesn't always agree, but they always find a way to get along.
NOTE. There are no spy rings in Topton. There are no super-villains, secret alien landings, or ticking bombs. The crises around here are to do with who will win the three-legged race at sports day, the weird new tourist in town, extreme cake shortages, conflict at the amateur dramatic society, Pig's crazy contraptions and inventions, or Duck's band (KWAK) rehearsing too loud during Pig's attempt to break the world domino tower record.
