- As Perdo/nanda Pivano (2018) this videoplay by Ottavio Rosati is an example of 'Bricconaggio': the artistic and active catharsis of an old (but still present) trauma. One day in 2001 Ottavio discovered that his young and talented partner Fabio during his "psychotherapy", financed by Ottavio, made frequently sex with "dr. Hide" the famous analyst who for ten years had been the teacher of Rosati. After 16 years Rosati reveals the circumstances and the emotions that he didn't express in 2001, in order to avoid the complete separation from two loved persons fundamental for his identity. The Ottavio's performance is completed by the Voice Off of Maurizio Stuppiggia (Teacher of Psychodrama School IPOD) who explains the consequences of any affective trauma and the specific manipulation with which dr. Hide in 2001 blocked any reaction of Rage of his former pupil. Rosati's videoplay of 2018 ends with a joyful exchange of dogs and revelations about today's gay customs between Ottavio and his pupil Francesco Marzano, author of the book "Ciak si gioca". The two cockers, Winnie and Duffy are the main testimonials of everything, in homage to the phrase of Francoise Dolto: "In a family children and dogs always know everything". The title "I cani dell'acqua Marcia" is inspired by Emanuele Trevi's novel "I cani del nulla" (2003, Einaudi, Stile Libero).—Vanessa Rusci
- Ottavio Rosati realizes, at a distance of 16 years, a Bricconaggio, that is the video catharsis of a traumatic episode of 2002, where he was betrayed by his old analytic Teacher and his young partner Fabio that seduce each other. The psychodramatic repair of this rare trauma also takes place, thanks to the intervention of the therapist Stupiggia and new affective and intellectual scenarios opened by the pupil Francesco. In an interview, Rosati told me: Making Trevi's outing was one with revealing that he had manipulated me as a former pupil and Fabio as a patient and pitted us against each other. I hesitated for years to reveal the story. Someone tried to make me feel guilty: Don't you think about his family and his patients? Nobody took into account that his wife and daughter were two psychiatrists and that his son was one of the most intelligent writers in Italy. No one observed that disclosing and analyzing the dynamics of this case would benefit many other patients and therapists. The "respect" of the "normal" family obscured respect for gay identity and the new genres of family. On closer inspection, the Trevi family with me and Fabio, my young partner at the time, is a system in which my outing constitutes a projective identification of his coming out, what Trevi has never done. Filtering and recounting these secret experiences from unconscious to unconscious (which, in my opinion, his son had guessed in his first novel "The dogs of nothing") I narrated his true self, post mortem. With this outing of ours, I refused to burden myself with his sense of guilt. How could he have done it. - I hope that "The rotten water dogs" proves that Trevi was a person rich in quality and highly cultivated. He would have been even more lovable if he had got rid of the homophobia of his times and his False Self. I like to imagine a socio-drama out of space and time in which all the characters could meet and understand and make everyone's reasons understood. I remember one day that Trevi at the end of the session gave me a booklet by Holderlin Sul tragico (1804), telling me to read it well, Ottavio: here Holderlin explains that the essence of tragedy is that all the characters are right.—Lorena Ghiotto
- Psycho-artistic restructuring of a trauma in which manipulation and disavowal, typical of relational abuse, are overcome thanks to the creative catharsis of a "bricconaggio", a new form of videoplay for web. "I Cani dell'Acqua Marcia" a video by Cristiano Pinto, directed and played by Ottavio Rosati, overcomes after many years the envy and manipulation of mr. Hide (a master intelligent but betrayer) who is the desperate victim of his False Self, the insidious homophobic cultural "frame" that damage his True Self.—Iris Caviglia
- After Perdo/nanda Pivano (2018) this videoplay by Rosati is the second that uses his new technique of Bricconaggio. This time the aim is to do the catharsis of a grave traumatic episode happened in 2001: Ottavio's young partner Fabio betrayed him with dr. Hide an illustrious analyst who had been the former teacher of Rosati. The Bricconaggio happens in the Botanical Garden of Rome with the cockers Winnie and Duffy. Ottavio express his hunger trough by throwing eggs on the images of the two traitors Later he celebrates the final purification washing two toy-dogs in the Fountain of Acqua Marcia seven years after the death of the teacher. Otherwise he is feels tempted to take revenge in the role of a jealous master who destroys the love of a new young and innocent couple. In the second part of the video Prof. Maurizio Stupiggia (voice off) analyses the reactions to an affective trauma. Other comments (about contemporary gay life style) come from Francesco Marzano an Ottavio's pupil who did his training in the School of Specialization in Psychodrama. Before this bricconaggio Francesco had an important role in the public disclosure of Ottavio's feelings that occurred with the supervision of the analyst Stefano Carta to whom Ottavio has dedicated his docufilm The Forbidden Fashion (2019). Ottavio plays everything in front of the group of pupils of IPOD school and even on the road. The same "Campo de Fiori" where, one year before, he had directed the socioplay L'amore in piazza (2017) produced by Ordine degli Psicologi del Lazio, in the style of Moreno's "Living Newspaper" as in La Moreno che tutti sanno chi è (1986) that the illustrious analyst would not have liked.
