Storyline

Jodi (Ava Michelle) has always been the tallest girl in school - and she's always been uncomfortable with it. After slouching her way through life for 16 years and being made fun of by classmates, Jodi meets Stig (Luke Eisner), a seemingly perfect Swedish foreign exchange student who's even taller than she is. Jodi's new crush turns her world upside down and throws her into a surprising love triangle, but with the help of her two best friends (Griffin Gluck, Anjelika Washington) as well as her beauty queen sister Harper (Sabrina Carpenter), Jodi comes to realize that she's far more than her insecurities about her appearance have led her to believe. Quotes

Jack Dunkleman: It's like I've been in love with this girl since elementary school, and this new guy just steps in and blows up my seven-year plan. Like, that's not cool, and he's going to end up with Kimmy, and Jodi'll spend the rest of her life pining for the one guy taller than her. And where does that leave me?
Fareeda: Sometimes I wonder what it'd be like to go to lunch with my friends and have them ask me about my problems.
Jack Dunkleman: Oh, and furthermore...

It's cute and relatable
17 September 2019 | by joriethomasSee all my reviews

I liked the movie. I'm 5'11" and have had these struggles and comments my whole life so I can only imagine a girl that's gone above 6'. I'm not athletic, actually I'm a klutz, so guess my height didn't serve me in anyway to make it cool. I get not everyone can relate and that's fine but I can. Never having shoes in my size, dating guys who are insecure about me towering over them, clothes never fitting, etc. Funny part is, I married a Swede who is only 5'3" 😂 I got a good kick out of the Swede giant thingy even though his accent was terrible. It actually is kind of hurtful that so many people who I'm guessing aren't any taller than 5'8" are condemning this like it's not an issue. They've made movies and shows about being overweight, I can't relate to that personally but I enjoyed them and felt empathy for that struggle. I would never judge another's struggle or hardship so if you can't relate, move on.
