Dogs In The Land Of Darkness

When it came to this documentary's overall presentation - (IMO) - "Dogs In The Land Of Lions" certainly could've been a whole lot better than it was.

What I mean by that is a lot of the footage taken of this wild dog family was shot in very poor and dim light where the activity of these animals was often difficult to make out for a good part of the time.

This, for me, was a real let-down - 'Cause I was definitely looking forward to watching yet another enjoyable wildlife documentary from the PBS Network.

A Cautionary Tale

It's sad. Thanks to humans, disease and climate change, there are barely seven thousand African wild dogs (aka painted dogs) left. They can't compete against larger predators like lions or even hyenas. Fifty years from now the only ones left will probably be in zoos.
