The actors depicting the German tribespeople in the series speak in German (albeit Modern German) but this series is notable as one of the only historical dramas of its kind in which dialogue for the Roman characters is all spoken in classical Latin. See more »
The people in this series are shown using stirrups. However, stirrups were not used at the time. The Goths, for instance, used them against the Romans with great effect, about 300-400 years after the time this series is set. See more »
It was good but not as good as it seems from the trailer.
Worth watching,it's not boring, quite the opposite but the trailer shows you a series that could be something extremely good but at the end is not...Satisfaction production, great costumes especially the Roman costumes, loved that the romans speaks they're language and the germans also, but probably some actors were not ready for such a big production (Thusnelda). ..probably the production was looking for a new Lagertha but in part it did not work out.She was not bad but her acting was a little too much...Nevertheless I did not find any major fault although I would like more from the battle...Looks like it will be a S2 and i really dont know what the story would be but i really wanted to be with Germanicus but i dont think so with the way the season ends
