Shows the demons and results
jellopuke27 July 2021
You don't have to like the guy but this is going to give you an unvarnished look at the ups and downs of his life. He had a pretty terrible addiction problem and the results of being a goon affected him pretty badly. You'll get a sense of the man and all of his demons and maybe come away with an opinion on hockey or maybe not. It's well made and has lots of archival footage so if you knew him from his career, this is worth seeing.

Flows well. Story is pathetic.

I quality of documentary is good. Towards the end they turn it into a sob story though. I don't feel bad for him. He chose a brutal sport that comes with consequences. He made terrible choices over and over again. All of these high ratings seem to be coming from those who love hockey. Get over it.

Bob was the man...
brett-7626031 August 2021
I was lucky to have met him a few times. Always gave fans the time of day. Bob... The best there is, the best there was, the best that will ever be... RIP Bob. There will never be another tough guy like you to lace a pair of skates up.

Shows just what a Jerk Probert really was.
barnsleylad49499 April 2020
Probert was nothing more than a Goon. I have absolutely ZERO sympathy for him. He brought it all on himself. Blaming other teammates for making him drink is ridiculous. He was highly talented and wasted it. There are kids that would kill to get in the NHL and here he is throwing it all away. It's hard to feel bad for a guy who's own commentary is just full of "Eff it. Not my fault. People are jerks." He is the jerk. Don't expect to feel any sympathy for Probert. His own death was his fault. Sorry - I care much less for Probert after watching this documentary.

Music
brucek-570-4939089 March 2020
Change the demeaning music on this documentary and you have a different story. They demonized the man here people! This is hockey culture and if you don't like it go watch the NBA. Probert was an enforcer and fought for his teammates. This is part of the game no matter how much they try to rid it and it is the reason it has such a hard core following. To deny the violence is to deny our ourselves of our love of competition. Hockey is our last great sophisticated competition. Don't let the media take it away.
