Danzig has fallen.

A dramatic debut, shows the beginning of the second world war from a different perspective, not often do shows see it from the point of view of the Polish. The massacre that began.

As a drama it is very different, I can't see at this stage the direction they're going to take the show. I must admit I watched this episode with a sunken feeling in my stomach, just waiting for the worst to happen, and quite often it did.

Terrific production values, and fine performances, Sean Bean proving to be a class act. Lesley Manville was great also.

Impressive. 8/10
