The Sandman commeth
24 October 2018 | by thejamie2000See all my reviews

For the first time in a long time, Adam Sandler didn't hold back.

Stringing together a myriad of his live performances, Sandler puts together a creative feature from start to finish. From comedy clubs to sold out arenas, his performances are raw and reminiscent of the 1990's in which he dominated. Sandler performs numerous songs between stand-up bits, each more ludacris than the last. At the same time, he brings forth his personal life to self deprecate and for the first time allow the audiences to see into his life as the wacky comedic man he is. The songs were very much like the Sandler of old, child like in tone but wildly adult in lyrics. His stand-up bits in between the songs were completely raw, as he allows the audience a look into his personal life and discover he really seems like a family oriented man, albeit with a warped and fantastically entertaining mindset.

All and all, the Sandman delivers a wicked sloppy joe of a comedy special, and even pays tribute to the legendary lunch lady st the same time. Full of laughs and cries, the Sandman offers one roller coaster you won't want to get off.
