Ashley Bratcher, who plays Abby, learned upon informing her mother that she was filming this movie that she herself was nearly aborted, as her parents believed they were too young to have a child at the time (her mother was 19). Her mother was on the table preparing for the procedure when a pregnant nurse entered and she changed her mind; she stated that an earlier abortion at 16 also had an impact on the decision as it had "devestated" her.
