A mysterious man is on an impending mission to attack the country from his base in London. Karan Singh Dogra sets out to hunt down the antagonist aided by the British Intelligence. Will Commando be able to prevent the attack and save the country?
Frankly, I never expected Commando to complete a trilogy. The first part was mostly trash, second one was marginally better but nothing great and now, teesra bhaag is better than previous two....just about.
Yup, this is Vidyut Jammwal's own version of Baaghi or Krrish and expectedly, he carries the entire film purely on his action chops. Baaki sab irrelevant...
Get it straight, other than the pulsating stunts and Hollywood level action sequences, Commando 3 has little else to offer. Vidyut's dhamakedar intro happens in a small town akhada where he saves a school girl from getting molested by some lecherous pehelwaans.
Next, he is packed off to London - fellow agent Adah Sharma in tow - to nab an Islamic terrorist (Gulshan Devaiah) who plans to wreak havoc in India by radicalizing our desi youth. That too using those 80s wala video cassettes, I kid you not!!
The unconvincing plot gives enough opportunity to our hero to mouth deshbhakti wale dialogues going to the extent of sermonizing the entire Muslim community in the climax. It all appears implausible and silly but still, Vidyut's martial arts make the film work to some extent.
Assuredly, Gulshan Devaiah is brilliant as the main villain never really going overboard even when the clumsy writing falters...note the intense interaction with his timid son. Super!
Thankfully, no dream wala songs or item numbers interrupt the narrative even though Adah Sharma asks Vidyut which side of bed he would prefer to sleep on...Hmm!!
Finally, Commando series is to Vidyut Jammwal what Baaghi franchise is to Tiger Shroff. It's meant to be viewed and relished by hard core action buffs. Just wishing these two action heroes collaborate for one big blockbuster. Tab asli mazaa aayegaa!!
