Did You Know?

During the discussion between Lieutenant Roy and Detective Steptoe, when the camera switches to Roy, the Clan MacPherson coat of arms can be seen to the upper right. The motto is Touch Not the Cat Bot the Glove, and refers to the clan's reputation as not to be trifled with. In keeping with the story line of poor policing convicting the wrong man for the crime, it foreshadows what may come. See more »

The supposed to be link to the streaming and IP-address showing as the one that the streaming-source is coming from isn't a correct IP-address for several reasons, 1. It got 3 series of numbers where a correct IP-address has 4, (32 bits). 2. All the digits in the IP-address are in a incorrect range and incorrectly typed (with a beginning zero). 3. There is a colon missing between protocol-part of the link. See more »

A bit choppy in places but a fun ride nonetheless
18 January 2019 | by jtindahouseSee all my reviews

During the first scene of 'American Hangman' I thought to myself this seems an awful lot like 'Saw'. Then one of the characters actually mentioned the scenario being similar to 'Saw' (without ever actually mentioning the title) and I realised this film may just be smarter than I anticipated. Thankfully it turned out I was right.

The film is a fun ride from start to finish. The pacing is the best thing this has going for it. I was never bored for a second. There were multiple different angles the story was being told from and each served its purpose well. It was also twisty without being overbearing or obvious.

The only real let-downs were some clunky dialogues (particularly near the start, things seemed to improve as the film went along) and an ending that I felt could have been handled better. It was a smart film and I felt it could've been smarter in its conclusion. Overall though I had a great time with 'American Hangman' and would highly recommend that people give it a look.
