The U.S. military has its own legal system: the Uniform Code of Military Justice. In the Marine Corps, the attorneys who represent their fellow Marines are called Judge Advocates. Judge Advocates are active-duty Marines, each of whom are eligible to serve as a prosecutor, a defense attorney... or to be assigned to a combat post. See more
