Not sure about this one (Minor spoilers after 4 episodes)
4 November 2020 | by CarsonTrentSee all my reviews

Something about it seems off. The Americans come off as white knights saviours and bringers of police procedural wisdom and superior moral values to war torn Germany. The Russians are pure scheming devils, murdering Germans with dubious past and kidnapping the poor Jewish kid trying to gain access to the precious implementation process of superior American know-how in the underdog Improvised in a former Bank Police station. 2 episodes in and Michael C. Hall still barely makes some brief cameos. Logan Marshall Green is more of a guest star in some episodes (starting with the 3rd one). Which seems a waste of their talents. Taylor Kitsch is OK, but aside from Tuppence Middleton (which is tops, here) is surrounded by German more or less newcomers which are quite generic in their acting (aside from Nina Hoss). Somehow this production seems like a mix of all too familiar ideas set in a demolished setting of postwar Berlin to mix things up. Unfocused and half-baked with a low budget filmed in a studio feel. There's some CGI showing occasional air-views of a demolished Berlin but it kinda shows that it isn't real. Plus there's a playful music at times which doesn't fit the decor one bit. The Max & Moritz bit is clumsy to say the least.

But for some reason I'll keep going because I'd like to see where it's going.

Update after watching the whole thing: Total mess. 4* out of 10 max.
