- TriviaAs with many of the episodes in this season, the episode title refers to a rap song - in this case; ' Stuntin' Like My Daddy' by Birdman and featuring Lil' Wayne.
- GoofsIt makes no sense for the teacher to grill Rue about a personal experience she had during the recent summer break, and put her on the spot like that. It would not even make sense to grill an adolescent that way who has not had a drug OD and near-death experience; many students that age are notoriously sensitive about personal matters and there is no discernible learning goal to the whole exercise. There might be an educational goal but then the normal thing for the teacher to do is obviously to wait for volunteers, not order a student to tell a personal story. But in this case, the teacher would have been made aware of Rue's issues as a matter of course, for very obvious reasons. Teachers need that kind of information to be able to do their job, and they are bound to keep it confidential by law. The teacher could therefore very easily lose her job over this, and indeed her entire teaching career, especially if Rue's mother decided to sue her, as many parents would.
- Quotes
Rue Bennett: [voice-over about Nate] He made a long mental checklist of the things he liked and disliked about women. He liked tennis skirts and jean cut-offs, but not the kind so short you could see the pockets. He liked ballet flats and heels. He hated sneakers and dress shoes, but was fine with sandals as long as they were worn with a fresh pedicure. He liked thigh gaps, hated cankles. He liked tan lines, long necks, slender shoulders. He liked good posture and fruit-scented body mist. He liked full lips and small noses. He liked chokers, but the lacy ones with flower cutouts or delicate patterns. He hated girls who sat like boys, talked like boys, acted like boys, but there was nothing on planet Earth he hated more than body hair.

Rue (Zendaya) is turning out to be (after viewing the first 2 episodes) quite an unlikable character - interested to see if she'll change at all near the end of the season. Her character seems to be wildly one-dimensional so far and, for most people, not relatable. Nevertheless, excited to see where the story goes!
