I was surprised to find this Michael Ninn video missing entirely from IMDb's listings, an omission I have rectified. It's forgettable and missable, like so much of the man's work.
He has a crew member (John Sykes) as a central NonSex character, staring and acting up as pointless voice-over screamed narration alerts us to the fact that this is all meant to "mean something". As with other perpetrators of what used to be sold as "artcore" porn (not a very appetizing pun), Ninn dresses up his wall-to-wall sex with splintered editing and music-video inspired imagery, not likely to fool anyone.
Some quality foreign talent like Rita Faltoyano and Britain's Michelle B. give us something to stare at, but the overall effect of "Rapture" is annoying. It's hardly the religioso/new wave drek of the Mimi Rogers mainstream film by this name, but apparently Ninn was incomprehensibly aiming at some such grandiose effect.
Lead player Angel Cassidy emerges as one of the least interesting blonde bombshell wannabes in recent porn history.
