Andrea Riseborough To Star In Michael Morris’ Real-Life-Inspired Drama ‘To Leslie’
Exclusive: Andrea Riseborough has boarded To Leslie, which Bloodline Ep Michael Morris will direct off Ryan Binaco’s screenplay which is inspired by the life of his mother.

Claude Dal Farra and Brian Keady of Bcdf Pictures are producers along with Kelsey Law. Binaco is also executive producing.

Riseborough will play Leslie, a West Texas single mother who won the lottery and squandered it just as fast, leaving behind a world of heartbreak. Years later, with her charm running out and nowhere to go, she fights to rebuild her life and find redemption.

“Ever since we worked together on Bloodline I knew that Andrea would be the ideal person to play Leslie,” said Morris. “Andrea is totally committed to the truth. She thinks incredibly deeply about the smallest moments and as an actress she is constantly surprising, challenging and fearless.”

Exclusive: Suits star Gina Torres is joining Lucy Hale and Robbie Amell in movie rom-com The Hating Game, which is due to get under way in New York in August.

As we revealed during Cannes, Peter Hutchings (Then Came You) will direct Christina Mengert’s adaptation of the bestselling novel by Sally Thorne.

The film is produced by Claude Dal Farra, Brice Dal Farra, and Brian Keady of Bcdf Pictures. Mister Smith Entertainment is co-financing and handling sales.

Pic tells the story of kind-hearted Lucy Hutton (Hale) and her cold-efficient nemesis Joshua Templeton (Amell). Resolving to achieve professional success without compromising her ethics, Lucy embarks on a ruthless game of one-upmanship against Josh, a rivalry that is impossibly complicated by her growing attraction to him. Torres will star as a co-ceo of two recently merged publishing houses where Lucy and Josh work.

The 2018 USA Today bestseller, published in more than 20 countries, tells the story of kind-hearted Lucy Hutton (Hale) and her cold, efficient nemesis Joshua Templeton (Amell). Resolving to achieve professional success without compromising her ethics, Lucy embarks on a ruthless game of one-upmanship against Josh, a rivalry that is impossibly complicated by her growing attraction to him.

‘Simpsons’ Producer David Mirkin Developing Sci-Fi Dramedy for YouTube
Longtime “The Simpsons” producer David Mirkin is working up sci-fi drama-comedy series “Jeff of the Universe” for YouTube Premium. Mirkin is teaming up with producer and distributor Dynamic Television on the live-action project.

Mirkin will write, direct, and executive produce the series. Daniel March and Holly Hines will exec produce for Dynamic alongside Todd Berger and former Fox and Endemol Shine exec Emiliano Calemzuk.

Few plot details were released, but Mirkin said: “Many have desperately tried to keep the stunning, disturbing, life-changing secrets exposed in ‘Jeff of the Universe’ from ever becoming public which is why I am so thrilled to be working with the brave folks at YouTube Premium and Dynamic Television. In addition, they are giving us a totally unlimited budget. At least that is what I am assuming.”
