Tony at the comedy club was exactly the kind of awkward scene that Ricky Gervais shows are so good at.

The sex worker thing felt unnecessary and we knew Tony would not sleep with her when he led her back, but I have to admit even that plot gave us some laughs.

Lots of thoughtful interactions in this episode, the storyline suffered a bit, but hardly noticeable.

I reckon things need to get darker for Tony before he can turn a corner.

Until then he is still angry and bitter with everyone around him. At least he manages to hire a prostitute to do the washing up for him. At least the kitchen looks tidier.

Tony's brother in law and employer organises a staff outing at a comedy club. Tony makes the comedian and audience depressed.

Only the nurse looking after his father tells him off for his attitude.

Again we see clips of Tony before his wife died, maybe he was always cynical but he also seemed to be happy go lucky as well.

The episode still provides laughs. Water stains that look like Kenneth Branagh and a smelly man who is a bit gaga, he turns up with Freddie Mercury's front tooth.
