Okay everyone, finally Disney has got a show going right. The focus with this show (so far) is not world-building or any agenda, but actually making a FUNNY show! In the first two episodes I think I laughed more than in all their marvel show episodes combined so far. The "chemistry" (if it can be called that in animation) is fantastic between the voice actors, and the dialogue is sharp and snappy. This reminds me of Emperor's New Groove Disney, and I think that's one of the highest compliments I can give it!! It really is hilarious, and surprisingly most of the laughs come from the new characters--not Mike and Sully (though they're awesome too). Please give this show a chance if you want to laugh!!
If you are looking for some wholesome, fairly comedic entertainment for the kids, look no further. But if you are jumping into this hoping for a worthy follow-up to the first two films, with the same charm and wit, you won't find it here. This show lacks the heart, soul, and compelling characters that pixar is known for (Maybe because Pixar didn't even do this show *cough* *cough*), and instead comes across as an average disney channel film follow-up.
This plays very much like a family friendly version of a work place comedy-i.e. The Office, Parks and Rec etc.-and it has enough laughs per minute to make worthwhile to watch. I also like that the show manages to work in a pretty mature theme-i.e. Trying to build a life after your job is rendered obsolete-to rest the entire show on. It works well with the original film's theme of scream shortages standing in for peak oil.
The animation is clearly TV production but it is Pixar quality as well.

I was really happy to see some of the same people doing the voices. Love John Goodman and Billy Crystal. Good childrens show with some things adults can appreciate also.
I think its a great spin on the two films
Still has charm and wit of the movies.. had plenty of laughs and smiles!
Not sure why some reviews are so harsh.. ive seen terrible spin on offs of movies from the 90's and 00's that were terrible! I don't think this series falls under that category
Give it a shot!
