Female-Led ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ and ‘Black Widow’ Top Fandango Poll of 2020’s Most Anticipated Movies
Four films directed by and led by women — “Wonder Woman 1984,” “Black Widow,” “Eternals” and “Mulan” — were ranked as the most highly anticipated movies of 2020, according to a poll conducted by the ticketing service Fandango.

Fandango surveyed 2,000 millennials who used the site during the final weeks of December for their choices of the movies and performances they’re most looking forward to in 2020. For the first time, the online group of voters selected movies that were all directed by women for the top spots.

Other films on the list included the 25th James Bond film “No Time to Die,” John Krasinski’s “A Quiet Place 2,” Cathy Yan’s “Birds of Prey,” the musical “In the Heights,” Pixar’s animated film “Soul” and “Fast & Furious 9.”

The Most Anticipated Movies of 2020 According to Fandango

Joseph Baxter Dec 27, 2019

Wonder Woman 1984 nabs the top spot in a 2020 Most Anticipated Movies survey, heading a top 4 dominated by female-fronted films.

As Christmas afterglow resonates, the world prepares to wave goodbye to a moviegoing decade dominated at the box office by comic book movies, its adjacent genres and the Disney-driven return of Star Wars. Thus, Fandango’s 2020 Most Anticipated Movies survey is looking ahead toward the launch of a ‘20s decade that, based on what we’re seeing, will be roaring in its own right with a scintillating slate of initial releases.

The ticket seller site polled more than 2,000 millennial film fans during the last weeks of December, yielding a series of results that, while not stupendously surprising, paints an intriguing picture when it comes to the trajectory of the aforementioned genres of movies.

Kim Kardashian Is Legally Blonde in Her Elle Woods Halloween Costume
Kim Kardashian recreated Reese Witherspoon's famous Legally Blonde video essay for Halloween. Kardashian is Elle Woods and did a pretty good job of channeling her inner blonde for the humorous video. One can tell that Kardashian put a lot of time and effort into pulling off the video essay along with the iconic Elle Woods look and it also looks like she had a lot of fun doing so. Witherspoon recreated the speech last year to announce that she's officially returning for a planned Legally Blonde 3.

Kim Kardashian made sure to nail each look from the different scenes from the Legally Blonde video essay, even wearing the same jewelry. While most of her millions of followers love the photos and the video recreation, there are plenty of negative comments calling her out for taking over something that isn't "hers," which is kind of weird. But, this is social

‘Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil’ Has Bad Spell Stateside With $36M+, ‘Joker’ Still The Man With $29M+, ‘Zombieland 2’ Reaps $26M+

  • Deadline
Sunday Am Update: Disney’s Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, despite being No. 1 this weekend, didn’t make enough money in the Us to justify its $185M production cost before P&a. It came in with $36M, an opening that’s 48% below the original 2014 movie’s $69.4M. The live-action sequel to the Sleeping Beauty spinoff also didn’t wow in China, where it opened to an estimated $22.4M, another sour showing in Prc next to Paramount/Skydance’s Gemini Man, which also paled with $20.9M. Social media ratings for both of those titles weren’t great, with respective Douban ratings of 6.2 and 7.1. In regards to Maleficent 2, Maoyan was much higher than Douban with 9.1 and Tpp an 8.8.

The global take for Maleficent 2 is $153M. Now I’ve been informed from finance sources that it’s a safe start worldwide to get this movie to break-even (which is around $400M), highly contingent on legs overseas.
