Falco: Der Kommissar

An instant classic hit from the 1980's and one of the few with the original German language intact without having an English version for it made by the same artist like Nena and Peter Schilling had on the same decade (the group After the Fire made a cover for it), the single "Der Komissar" by Falco is one of the unmistakable sounds of the period.

Strange as it is but for the past couple of years that it became something that I started to listen more frequently and end up enjoying it but for a long time it was one of the most annoying songs I ever heard. I'm still trying to figure out where did this change of heart began. Maybe it was this video as dated as it may be.

Falco appears on a blue screen with images from police cars at night while he keeps on running from the and singing the song. It's kinda dumb but it's fun to look at it.

Most important is great to hear it, the beat, the rhythm, the rap style from Falco, it's a fun catchy song and one of the many greats from the "German invasion" of the 1980's.

Mandatory for any enthusiast of the decade. 8/10.
