Too many of the installments in this series have taken an inherently ridiculous premise and tried to turn it into serious horror. This one knows it's silly and leans in. Fast-paced, funny slasher schlock.
I actually really enjoyed this episode. I was actually expecting something a little darker and was pleasantly surprised by the comedy element of it. Tom Bateman was fabulous playing the hitman, really good job. The three 'heroes' were really funny, I found myself laughing quite a lot. Having said that, I'm hoping that not all of the episodes are going to be comedic. I am expecting the next one to be downright scary. Watch this space.
Young Kimberly attempts to overcome her mom's mystery death to fix her agoraphobia. However, she begins to sense she is in harm's way as she lives with her dad.
A character study of two emotionally or mentally disturbed souls . One the Father . Two the Daughter . This 1:33 minute episode is very well acted . The limited characters (Diana Silvers as Kimberly, and Dermot Mulroney as her father) are well casted, and comfortably take command, guiding the story along.. "Flesh & Blood" shows that maybe Into the Dark is worth sticking around a whole year for. "Flesh & Blood" is a more conventional thriller, but its deft execution doesn't let it feel stale. "Flesh & Blood" takes its time setting up its characters and conflict, but once it gets going it doesn't stop. Very good thriller.

If you're watching this first episode and are into all things horror you are probably thinking haven't I seen this already
Well the answer is yes! This is almost the exact same story that occupied a segment from Patient Seven (same segment writer)
The story is a bit more fleshed out and a bit bloodier but still no excuse to do the same thing again in less than 2 years for a horror series - there are plenty of horror writers out there looking for a break without recycling stuff (well I supposes it works for Hollywood)
That said it was watchable - again - as it was slightly better than the short and some nice deaths
Lower rating has I had only recently seen Patient Seven
Edit July 2020 - upgrading my score from 3 to 5 after part way thru season 2 There's some real turkeys in the show but some passable horror stories especially in season 2 - A Nasty Piece of Work was a pleasant surprise

Look, I like the show. My issue is that everything is looked up on sites like this one, imdb now. On the front of Hulu today shows a movie titled Blood Moon. Go look for it. You'll NEVER find it. That's because it's an episode of I to the Dark. But nowhere on its Hulu details page does it mention into the dark. The only way I found out is by searching one of the actors and tracing it back. Who would purposely do this? Most who look things up first will pass this up like I was about to. Typically the only reason you can't find a movie is because it was made so awfully that it doesn't even have a page on IMDb. It's just strange that so many people put time into something and they make it this hard to care about. Oh well. It's not that great anyway. Into the Dark has many better episodes to choose from.
