The Bay (2019)
DS Jenn Townsend, Morecambe's new FLO, is thrown in the deep end when a body is found in the Bay on her first day in the job. She must get under the skin of a grieving and complicated family if she has any chance of solving the murder, whilst at the same time proving herself to new colleagues in the MIU. The pressure is multiplied when her new blended family struggle to settle in Morecambe, proving to Jenn that a fresh start might not be quite as simple as moving to a different town.

    Series 3 snooze fest

    Descended into an astonishingly dull Hollyoaks parody with extra, unnecessary profanity. Wooden acting bratty kids, characters noone cares about and a murder that is barely referred to. There is absolutely no reason why this set in Morecambe and apart from some scenic opening shots you would not think it is. There is zero chemistry between the couples with the lead speaking in a drab monotone that matches the tedious plot. I guess this will be the last series...

    Enjoying it so far

    This is my first review but felt the need due to the criticism of the accents/dialect of the character's. Here in the UK we make programmes and films covering a wide range of accents and dialect. We don't adapt these especially so that none UK residents can understand them. They are what they are and represent the whole of the UK. So to slate a programme for the accents of the actors who are representing a particular part of Britain is rude in my book. I wouldn't do that about American shows.

    Subplots were a bit much.

    I like the series, but found the subplots of the investigator's children a bit distracting, it's almost like the writers were looking to fill some time. As for the criticism of the accents. I had not problem understanding them.

    Very enjoyable.

    Had been looking forward to this as I'm a big fan of Broadchurch type drama and it didn't let me down. Can't wait for the next episode. I didn't have an issue with the accents at all, being from the UK I'm very used to hearing all different accents.

    Rated for S01 & S02

    Lisa was the main character in both first seasons, so sending her to London in S03 was shooting themselves in the foot. S03 didn't feel like previous ones. I couldn't finish the first episode.
