This thrilling and nail-biting film displays violent combats and very high body-count , as our starring Sam/Karen Gillan finds out that a large bounty has been put on his life and attemt to protect a little girl at whatever cost . This is a sort of rip-off to John Wick (2014) in which a hitman comes out of retirement to track down the gangsters that killed his dog and took everything from him , while this Gunpowder Milkshake (2021) deals with a killer woman decides to put the life of an unfortunate eight-year-old girl above the interests of the nefarious organisation called the Firm , as she blind with revenge, and for her salvation will immediately unleash a carefully orchestrated maelstrom of destruction against those attempt to chase her . It's a bone-chilling action-packed film with an interesting mingle of suspense , bloodletting and violent combats but with tongue-in-cheek especially when the three botcher hitmen show up . The plot is simple and plain , as a killer woman being forced into action to save a little girl and steadily butchering his merciless enemies , while inching ever closer to the long-awaited bloody final. This an impressive thriller with ustoppable action , rip-roaring crossfire , including overwhelming fighting with a lot of blood and gore . It's a mindless but enjoyable flick for thrillers aficionados of the old style , but adding some new technical being made by means of digital computer generator as well as expert stunts . Abundant fist-fights in which arms and body parts are slice off here and there and limbs are slit open everywhere or blasted apart . Of course , highlights of the film are the hair-rising and groundbreaking confrontations with lots of blood dropping here and there . Karen Gillan is nice as Sam , the expert assassin , a resourceful and pitiless woman who was abandoned by her mother . She's well accompanied by a good cast , most of them formed by experimented actresses , such as : Carla Gugino, Angela Bassett , Lena Headey and recently Oscarized Michelle Yeoh . Due to extreme violence, it was dramatically cut for its original theatrical release in some countries , which still garnered '18' . The unrated version of the film features an extremely bloody splatter . Cruel and savage murders make only recommended for those adults no squeamish and with strong stomach enough to take it .
It packs colorful cinematography by expert veteran cameraman Michael Seresin . As well as screeching and pulsing musical score by composer Haim Frank Ilfman. The motion picture was professionally directed by Navot Papushado, though no very original due to several action scenes we have already seen before . This craftsman has made a few decent films. He is a writer and director, known for Kalevet (2010) , Big bad wolves (2013), ABCs of death (2014) and Gunpowder Milkshake (2021). Rating : 6/10 .Acceptable , but neither notable , nor excellent , but passable .
