How Internet Backlash Helped ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ Avoid Box Office Disaster
It’s not a stretch to say Universal’s “Cats” and Paramount’s “Sonic the Hedgehog” had two of the most polarizing movie trailers in recent memory. Both caught fire online for all the wrong reasons after fans on social media torched the questionable CGI.

Cats,” an adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical, used a new science called “digital fur technology” to bring the four-legged felines to the big screen. The expensive CGI, which had been teased relentlessly, would have been too costly to completely retool before it was unleashed over the holidays. The film became a box office disaster and lost $100 million theatrically after factoring in marketing costs.

Sonic” could have easily suffered the same fate. But rather than releasing the movie when it was initially slated to debut last November, Paramount delayed the film so director Jeff Fowler could redesign the animated character, whose creepy teeth initially

Controversial Gang Saga ‘Blue Story’ Release Date Moved By Paramount
Paramount Pictures has moved the controversial gang film Blue Story to a March 20 exclusive opening.

Blue Story is directed by Onwubolu, who is known as Rapman on his successful YouTube videos. His film tells of two London youths whose lives are scarred by gang warfare. Its showing in the UK sparked a mass brawl at a weekend screening, causing at least two cinema chains to pull it from theaters.

The fight, which occurred in Birmingham in central England, involved around 100 people, including someone wielding a machete. Seven police officers were injured trying to quell the brawl.

The March 20 date will have competition from Paramount’s horror sequel A Quiet Place Part II, the comedy/horror film Deerskin from Greenwich Entertainment, the animated Children of the Sea from Fathom Events, a limited release of the comedy Phoenix, Oregon from Aspiration Entertainment, and the Sony Pictures dramedy The Climb.

John Krasinski Reveals Why He Did A Quiet Place 2

John Krasinski Reveals Why He Did A Quiet Place 2
It was hard to know what to think about A Quiet Place when it first came out since it was a different type of horror movie. Any movie that deals with the necessary absence of anything that’s a common occurrence for many human beings is bound to have an interesting story behind it. Think about it, in Tremors anything moving on the ground was fair game, in Bird Box the protagonists couldn’t rely on their sight, and in A Quiet Place the absence of sound was an absolute necessity for survival since to make anything above a whisper was enough

How Much The New Design In Sonic The Hedgehog Really Cost

How Much The New Design In Sonic The Hedgehog Really Cost
This weekend sees the release of Sonic The Hedgehog and Paramount is surely hoping they have a hit on their hands. 2019 didn’t end well for the studio after Terminator: Dark Fate and Gemini Man failed to connect with audiences despite carrying hefty budgets and they really need a big winner.

2020 didn’t get off to a great start, either, with The Rhythm Section possibly competing with Dolittle for the biggest flop of the year. And it’s only February. The Blake Lively action movie cost a reported $50 million (insane!) and has earned a paltry $5 million after two weeks.

But Sonic has a lot going for it. The advertising is catering to both kids and the parents who grew up with the Sega video game and after the success of last year’s Detective Pikachu ($433 million worldwide), Paramount is now banking on a similar return for their property.

John Krasinksi Was Intimidated By Chris Hemsworth While Trying On Captain America Suit

Did you know that John Krasinksi was close to becoming Captain America? He actually auditioned for the role and went so far as to put the suit on. Or at least, most of the suit.

While appearing on The Ellen Show, the former Office star spoke about the process and how a fellow actor’s physique made him feel insecure and intimidated. That fellow actor was Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth.

Just about any male not named Dwayne Johnson might feel intimidated by the Australian star who’s been playing the God of Thunder since 2011. But while seeing it up close, Krasinski was especially awed by Hemsworth’s body.

“I was putting the suit on and the guy was like, ‘This is really momentous.’ And I said, ‘Yes,'” Krasinski continued. “I was putting the suit on, and I was halfway up, and right at that moment, Chris Hemsworth walked by and he was like,

Amazon Boards Emily Blunt-Led Western ‘The English’ From BBC (Exclusive)
Amazon has snapped up North American rights to an Emily Blunt-fronted western from the BBC, Variety has learned.

The streaming giant is understood to have boarded “The English,” which has attached the “Quiet Place” actor as its lead. The multi-part series is produced by “Doctor Foster” firm Drama Republic, whose credits include BBC Two and SundanceTV spy thriller “The Honorable Woman,” as well as Netflix and BBC Two co-production “Black Earth Rising.”

The series is the latest from writer-director Hugo Blick, who broke out with “Honorable Woman” in 2014. The Golden Globe and Peabody-winning drama was one of the first high-end shows to feature actors traditionally seen in film crossing over into the TV space, and featured Maggie Gyllenhaal as a woman who inherits her family’s arms business and becomes mired in a volatile political situation in the Middle East.

Blick’s follow-up, “Black Earth Rising,” aired in 2018, and

Don't Speak Trailer Gives A Quiet Place the Mockbuster Treatment

Don't Speak Trailer Gives A Quiet Place the Mockbuster Treatment
Wicked Thrilling Freaks has unveiled a new trailer for Don't Speak. This falls firmly in the category of what one might call a mockbuster, which means it's a low-budget attempt at recreating a legitimate Hollywood blockbuster. In this case, the filmmakers are trying to recapture the magic that director John Krasinski found in 2018's A Quiet Place. While nobody could expect a made-on-a-dime monster flick to pull that off, certain elements of this trailer are surprisingly decent.

As with anything cut from this cloth, the acting is going to be a little stiff and the cinematography isn't going to be anything to write home about, to say the very least of it. But there are some genuinely impressive practical creature effects here, and a few neat shots. Whether or not that will justify sitting through the whole movie is another question entirely. The connective tissue is easy to spot, as

  • MovieWeb
Rumor has it a Secret Invasion series is in the works at Marvel and will make its debut on Disney+. We've heard unconfirmed whispers that something along these lines may be in the works, but evidence is starting to mount that this truly could be happening in the not-too-distant future. If indeed this latest round of rumors proves to be true, it will heavily tie the new Marvel Cinematic Universe shows into what's happening on the big screen.

Before digging in, we must caution that this can only be regarded as a rumor for the time being. Until further confirmation is provided, this should be taken as nothing more. With that said, reporter Daniel Richtman, who is known for breaking these kinds of scoops, recently shared an update to his Patreon stating that he's heard the rumors of a Secret Invasion series happening on Disney+ are indeed true. A Quiet Place 2: John Krasinski Breaks Down His Return and Why He Did It
John Krasinski has revealed why he wrote himself into A Quiet Place 2. The first trailer for the sequel arrived a few weeks ago and fans of the first installment were shocked to see Krasinski back in action. His character did not survive the events of the first installment, so the confusion was warranted. Krasinski believes that he was able to get everything done and explained in a tasteful way, which is why he is back on screen and not just behind the camera.

In a new interview with Ellen DeGeneres, John Krasinski explained why he felt it was important for his character to return, as we saw in the A Quiet Place 2 trailer. Obviously, his return is made possible through the use of flashbacks, which fans picked up on right away after seeing the trailer. There is not a supernatural aspect to his return. He had this to

John Krasinski Would Love to Play Reed Richards in the McU's Fantastic Four

John Krasinski Would Love to Play Reed Richards in the McU's Fantastic Four
There have been rumors and fan castings for years that put A Quiet Place actor and director John Krasinski at the head of the superpowered family as Mr. Fantastic. Well, the man himself has now renewed his interest in having a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and specifically in any future Fantastic Four movie.

"You're like, "Do you have any interest in not shattering people's dreams"? [Laughs] I would love to be in the Marvel universe. I love those movies because they're fun, but I also think they're really well done. And certainly a lot of my friends are in those movies. I have no idea what [Marvel] are thinking. But if they are considering me for Mr. Fantastic, continue to consider me because I would love it."

It is very unlikely that John Krasinski would be shattering anybody's dreams considering that fans have been calling for him to play the part for some time now,

Will There Be Any Marvel Movie or TV Trailers During the Super Bowl?

  • The Wrap
Will There Be Any Marvel Movie or TV Trailers During the Super Bowl?
We’ve had nine months to emotionally grapple with the cataclysmic events of “Avengers: Endgame,” but now it’s almost time for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to start moving on without its two biggest characters, Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Chris Evans’ Captain America. We’ve already gotten a couple trailers for “Black Widow,” which kicks off this new era in May, but will Disney fire up the hype machine in full during the Super Bowl with some new looks at that film or the other McU flicks that are on the way in 2020?

There are, as you probably already know, two new McU films hitting theaters this year, with “Black Widow” up first in May and then “Eternals” in November. There are also two Disney+ limited series scheduled for this calendar year: “Falcon and the Winter Soldier” and “WandaVision.” And, of course, there are a couple new

Previously In "A Quiet Place":

"...throughout the first three months of 2020, most of Earth's human and animal populations have been annihilated by sightless extraterrestrial creatures. The creatures, which attack anything that makes noise, have hypersensitive hearing and indestructible, armored skin.

"The 'Abbott' family – wife 'Evelyn', husband 'Lee', congenitally deaf daughter 'Regan and sons 'Marcus' and 'Beau' – silently scavenge for supplies in a deserted town. While out in the open, the family communicates with 'American Sign Language'. Four-year-old Beau is drawn to a battery-powered space shuttle toy, but Lee takes it away due to the noise it would make. Regan returns the toy to Beau, who also takes the batteries that his father removed from it.
