Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis Movie Shooting in Secret for Netflix

Sure, why not! Netflix is shooting a Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis movie in secret. You might not think that the concept would work on the big screen. But half the time we think that, take the Lego Movie for instance, it ends up being the opposite of true. This could be a great comedy classic. A masterpiece. Though, saying it's hitting the big screen might be overstating it.

Between Two Ferns: The Movie is being shot as a Netflix original streaming movie. And it will probably be about 80 minutes in length. The concept of the show has Zach Galifianakis sitting between two ferns with a guest that he's not necessarily nice too. There have been some big gets on the Funny or Die show. Brad Pitt once stopped by, and it doesn't get any bigger than President Barak Obama.

Production on Between Two Ferns is already under way,

It's a Mythical Adventure in the First Trailer for Laika's Missing Link

  • Cinelinx
This morning, Laika Studios have given movie-goers the first look at their latest film, Missing Link, with a fun and colorful trailer. Come inside to check it out!

I've always been a sucker for stop-motion films, and Laika Studios have given audiences some of the best over the last several years. After the gorgeous action, and heart-gripping story of Kubo and the Two Strings, I was incredibly eager to see what they had next...This was especially true when we learned it was about Bigfoot!

I'm a huge nerd for cryptozoology stuff, so this seemed like a film specifically designed with me in mind. As such, I was delighted to see the first trailer for Missing Link arrive this morning:

I'm digging it. It's definitely a different take on the Bigfoot mythos, but I like the idea of seeing him encounter of all these other mythical creatures on the journey to find his family.

Laika Returns with First Trailer for Stop-Motion Adventure ‘Missing Link’

Travis Knight, the head of the stop-motion animation studio Laika, is finishing up his Transformers film Bumblebee, but that doesn’t mean the company has taken a break. Following up Knight’s directorial debut Kubo and the Two Strings, they’ll return this spring with Missing Link, a new adventure from ParaNorman director Chris Butler.

Featuring the voice cast of Hugh Jackman, Zoe Saldana, Zach Galifianakis, Timothy Olyphant, Emma Thompson, Stephen Fry, Matt Lucas, Amrita Acharia, and David Walliams, the first trailer has now arrived today. The story follows a bigfoot-esque creature who has more heart than his physical appearance may lead on. The trailer certainly hews closer to marketing to the kind of demographic that will show up for The Grinch this weekend, but hopefully there’s more imagination in store when it comes to the final film.

‘Missing Link’ Trailer: Laika Studios Delivers More Handmade Goodness

There was a solid period in the early 2010s where it seemed as though hand-animated movies were a thing of the past, with Disney abandoning hand-drawn animation after “The Princess and the Frog” and Pixar and Dreamworks in a sort of arms race to make better and better-looking CG animated movies (with Blue Sky and Illumination not far behind).

Now, it looks like things might be swinging back somewhat, with companies Aardman Animations, Cartoon Saloon, Studio Ghibli (all of Hayao Miyazaki’s movies) holding fast against the trend towards digital animation.

Variety’s Creative Leadership Honoree Travis Knight Makes Bold Moves Onscreen and Off
Deep in the pacific Northwest, in the rain-drenched, cold brew-infused world of Portland, Ore., Travis Knight has created something strange and very special. Over the past 15 years, the stop-motion helmer and producer has built Laika, a film studio that’s become famous for crafting movies by hand.

They’ve also been lauded for their cutting-edge technologies that they use in conjunction with their stop-motion art. In 2016, Laika won a Sci-Tech award from AMPAS for its 3D printing technologies.

It’s taken years to attract and develop the kind of unusual, gifted artists that can make hits including “ParaNorman” and the critically lauded “Kubo and the Two Strings.” But Knight, who describes himself as a lonely kid who loved to read and become immersed in stories, feels in sync with the creative family who’ve joined him there.

“We are a strange group of people, from all walks of life, from all over the world,

Michael Moore’s ‘Fahrenheit 11/9’ Sells Major International Territories (Exclusive)

  • Variety
Michael Moore’s “Fahrenheit 11/9” has closed a series of major international sales in the run-up to its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival. The documentary was one of the most hotly anticipated debuts at the Canadian gathering because of its subject matter: Moore, a darling of the left and favored punching bag of the right, is taking on the age of Trump in the movie — its title is a reference to the 2016 election day.

Moore delivered the fireworks on Thursday, offering up a critique of American politics that touches on everything from the water crisis in Flint, Michigan to the Parkland shootings. At the film’s post-screening Q&A, Moore was joined on stage by David Hogg and two other Parkland survivors.

The film is being represented by the international sales and distribution division of Stuart Ford’s Agc Studios. Ford launched the film and television production company earlier this year,
