From a telegram received by Bekker (Alexander Skarsgård) we know the series is set in April 1979. Bekker uses a Walkman, which was first released in Japan in July 1979, and later still in foreign markets (in June 1980 in the US). (Source: Wikipedia) See more »

Quotes

Gadi Becker: [to Charlie] We understand how you've spun a more dramatic fiction for your life. One that plays in interviews and auditions, at political forums with your so-called friends. One that feels more like you, than the ordinary, suburban reality. And we love you for it. Because we are just the same.

The Little Drummer Girl is not an easy book to adapt. Some things that might work on the page may not come across plausible on the screen.

Charlie has been watched by Kurtz for a long time and he thinks Mossad can work on her and get her to infiltrate a Palestinian terrorist cell. Kurtz has checked on Charlie's background to demolished her family background as a tissue of lies.

Charlie met Salim/Michel who is terrorist Khalil's younger brother in England several times when raising awareness for the Palestinian cause. Now Salim has been captured by Mossad, Becker will take his place.

Charlie knows Becker looks nothing like Salim but she has to pretend to be Salim's lover. By casting a Scandinavian actor, you really are going to be hard pressed that he could pass as Israeli or Palestinian!
