Storyline

Caesarea is a magnificent site, a national park where amazing ancient harbor ruins, beautiful beaches, and impressive modern residences sit side by side. On the Coastal Plain and overlooking the Mediterranean Sea lies the ancient city of Caesarea. Herod the Great built it, in honor of Caesar Augustus, around 25 BCE. At this time, Caesarea eclipsed Jerusalem, and became, during the Roman period, the seat of the Roman governor. Two entrances for the site, one entrance to the Herodian City, and the other to the Crusader City. When entering the Archaeological Park of Caesarea, you will discover sculptures. The majority of these sculptures are statues of people. It is assumed that the largest of them represented the Emperor Hadrian. We are now at the Roman theatre. Built by Herod, it can accommodate 4000 spectators. The orchestra floor was decorated with marble. Behind the stage stood a wall for the echo.
