Definitely worthy of the franchise's name
8 June 2020 | by naujibarraSee all my reviews

First off, it's like if Hotwheels (H35/Acceleracers) and FnF had a child. Next, this series is really good. I've been a fan of the series since the first film, and I think this is better than the last few films we got. The series throws in a mix of appreciation for the cars as well as the action that was added in the later movies. The throwbacks and nods to stuff that happens in the movies were a good touch I think especially for the die hard fans that know the movies like the back of their hand.

It was so good I watched all of it in a day and am hungry for more. Honestly, the high tech gadgets and stuff seem more in place here than on the live action films. The only thing that was bothering me was that some of the cars' animations were off, like the people animating them were not very into cars. Aside from that, I think Dreamworks could've made better textures and models for the characters. It was like seeing a show from a couple years ago. I do understand it must have been something with the show's budget but come on! Dom looked low resolution compared to the others, Echo had blurry skin textures, etc.

Other than that, I was hoping we could see some Brian O'Connor cameo as well since I think that also works better on the animated series than a live series that has a botched CG of Paul Walker.
