Trivia

The pylon in Commander Saru's home village is the same design as the obelisk from Star Trek: The Original Series: The Paradise Syndrome (1968), just turned upside down. See more »

Goofs

Despite the Kelpiens being very sensitive and fearful, Siranna's threat ganglias don't seem to activate at some points where they most certainly would have to, especially when Michael appears to her (she never saw anything other than Kelpiens), and when she is in the Ba'ul structure, including when the Ba'ul and the drones are threatening them and Siranna looks terrified. Quotes

Sylvia Tilly: You think the Ba'ul are hiding something?
Michael Burnham: I think they know more about the changes brought on by Vahar'ai than the Kelpiens do, and I think they're willing to do almost anything to keep that secret.
Sylvia Tilly: Will they kill Saru?
Michael Burnham: Not if we can find out what they're hiding in time. And there has to be something in the Sphere's archive. There has to be.
Sylvia Tilly: Well, that's what... Airiam and I are here for. We will find it.
Lt. Cmdr. Airiam: [studying the ship's monitors] There it is.
Sylvia Tilly: When I said "we", I just meant Airiam.

One complaint...

It should have been a two parter...belongs among the great Star Trek episodes. Its just that so much more could have been taken from it.
