Trivia

Ensign Tilly went to "Musk Junior High". While it could be named for someone who comes along in the next 200 years, Elon Musk is probably a good guess for the school's namesake. See more »

Goofs

Towards the beginning of the episode, Captain Pike asks the computer to show him Starfleet's rendering of the seven signals, then to 'rotate 90 degrees counterclockwise'. He doesn't specifies around which axis, yet the computer rotates it around the vertical axis, even though it could have been another one. Also the rotation starts exactly when he begins to pronounce 'counterclockwise', so the computer couldn't know at this time, in which direction to do it. See more »

Holy cow that was Classic Trek!

Two episodes in, and I'm digging this season of Discovery. I hope in the future they give a bigger episode count for a season to have stories like this - just pure exploration and how the crew is faced with dilemmas like obeying Starfleet protocol vs being humanist.

Loved it! More of this please!
