In the first Ball challenge of the season, the queens construct three looks inspired by the effects of global warming on society and the environment.

RuPaul asks the remaining 11 queens to take part in a satirical photo-bombing mini challenge based on infamous celebrity photos, including Amy Schumer and Kim Kardashian on the red carpet. Aquaria wins the mini-challenge as well as the first mini-challenge prize of $1,000 of Postmates credits.

The maxi challenge is inspired by global warming and the effects on the environment in the season's first ball. Each queen needs to come up with 3 separate looks falling under the categories 'Alaskan Winter Realness', 'Miami Summer Realness' and 'Martian Eleganza Extravaganza'. This week's alternate main judge is Ross Matthews with the special guest judges being actresses Tisha Campbell Martin and Logan Browning.

Eureka, The Vixen, Blair St Clair, Monique Heart and Mayhem Miller are all declared safe after walking the runway in their 3 outfits. Aquaria, Kameron Michaels and Miz Cracker gain praise for their catwalk styles with Aquaria winning the maxi-challenge. This makes Aquaria the first queen this season to win the mini and maxi challenge in the same episode. Aquaria's prize is a $2,000 gift card to D Bleu Dazzled and a selection of wigs from Rock Star Wigs. Asia O'Hara, Dusty Ray Bottoms and Monet X Change land in the bottom 3. Despite this, all three of these queens were praised for their 'Miami Summer Realness' outfits. Asia is pronounced as safe.

Monet and Dusty perform their lip-sync to Nicki Minaj's 'Pound the Alarm', providing an energetic and funny routine. Monet is saved with Dusty sashaying away at the end.
