In a richly filmed black-and-white Los Angeles, SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT follows three young millennials as they form a wholehearted ménage à trois, finding joy together by joining political protests, making art, and falling deeper into their unconventional love, until one must return to Italy and their experience there threatens the delicate balance of their relationship in this award winning film that sparks with the restless energy of the French New Wave. I was fortunate enough to have seen this gorgeous film on the big screen at the St. Louis International Film Festival as a part of the New Filmmaker Forum. The film swept me away, and gave me hope that independent film can still be beautiful and touch upon a mood and style of an important filmic era of the past...but with an utterly unique, fresh approach. If you love "Jules & Jim" you'll feel the echo of that film and the french new wave era. Director Svetlana Cvetko has given us a treat of a film. I'll want to watch this one again.
