Contagion! The BBC Four Pandemic

I mean, there's no real spoiler alert here. Pandemics are going to spread to a lot of people - duh! It was fun to watch this cell phone experiment, but not surprising. Only surprise to me: this test was done in 2018, and at the end of 2019 we are battling the Coronavirus? Coincidental....?

Another thing I found odd is; no matter the death % of prior flus, when calculating the potential new flus the scientists used 2% as the 'magic number' of deaths per those who contract it. (The point here is HOW MANY CONTRACT IT * 2%). Yet, we can NEVER know those people who contracted it, but were asymptomatic, and how many people they will go on to infect. They do discuss the possibilities of such things - but it's just a cell phone study, and cannot accurately account for these variations. The discussion on those, and their presuppositions seemed a bit implausible with only an app. (this is where they lose a star).

This is by far the best study I've seen for Pandemic spread and control. I wonder why our governments didn't take heed to their warnings and research when COVID19 arrived? Or maybe they did?
