Storyline

This is the story behind the myth about a group of forgotten snowboard heroes, told in a heartfelt and enthusiastic way by the protagonists themselves. A film about a group of complete unknowns becomes proof that everything is possible, while at the same time being a melancholic reminder that nothing lasts forever. A love letter to snowboarding and community
18 January 2019 | by danielnilssen-26323See all my reviews

Always next season is a film about a film, a masterfully crafted culmination of a semi-legendary and semi-forever postponed project to create a snowboard film documenting the local talents of the Tromsø Snowboarding scene of the 90s and their attempt, two decades later, to finally showcase their skills and passion.

TANS is a heartfelt love letter to a tight knit community, a time, place and the extraordinary people that bring us together. The documentary easily transcends just snowboarding and is a moving reminder that even as we grow up and out of our childhood passions, we perhaps don't change as much as we think- that friends drifting apart due to the banalities of adult life can just as easily find their way back together when we allow the circumstances to be right.

A++, would watch again. Simply an incredible achievement by first time director Størmer, the entire team Scheffler-crew and their friends. Cannot recommend enough.
