Sophie doesn't find anything to free the Englishman from the ropes, even though she has just freed herself with a shard of glass of her spectacles. Also there is the glass water bottle and there seem to be empty ones, too, which could be broken for shards.
The door to the outside, within Sophie's room, has padlocks on it. It appears that his is the only door out of the location (there appears to be no other door in the Englishman's room). It is more normal to have these on the outside rather than the inside of the door. How would anyone open the door from the outside if the padlocks are on the inside?
As the telephone rings for the first time, Sophie picks up the receiver and the phone still keeps ringing for a few seconds.
Sophie has a visible tragus piercing in one ear throughout. This did not become popular until some time in the 1980s, even then was rare to be seen until much later in the 2000s.
