The script by Zeek Earl and Christopher Caldwell was what drew Pedro Pascal to the film. He liked the eloquent and respectable dialogue for his character. They decided later to tone down how "Shakespearean" it was.
The characters reference needing to get to the slingback. When the commuter freighter that carries the passengers approaches the green moon, the drop pods descend to the planet. The freighter then orbits around the backside of the green moon. Once it makes a 360 degree turn back to the way it came, the drop pods are able to reconnect and travel back to Central.
The moon on which the aurelac is harvested is called "Bakhroma Green". Harvesters will take drop pods (because of ease of use in the dense forest due to their manageable size) that are dropped by the former Kaslo Service Route which was extended Central-BG Line to facilitate the rush to Bakhroma.
