Sagaa is the first feature-length film of the director Murugesh. Though I didn't expect much of the movie, I was excited for the cast with the most famous uprising actors. The story did surprise me positively, but it kinda wasted its potential.
The story had so many brilliant links to each other. The central aspect of this film was friendship or even better - brotherhood. Unfourtanetely they tried too hard to create new, unnecessary sub-stories. The director didn't give enough time to develop the bond between the characters. So the emotional scenes fell flat and felt forced which led to some cringy scenes.
The overall performance of the cast was okay. The known actors from Goli Soda and especially Saran did very well. The one female actress in Sathya's Story is very promising, too. I really wish the best for these guys. But there could've been a better casting for some of the other less important characters.
The music was the biggest disappointment. The background score didn't fit at all, was overreacting for most of the scenes which led mostly to the cringe-factor. The songs were pretty good, of course especially "Yaayum". But the video songs were totally unnecessary. The fight scenes were way better than what we usually see, but sometimes it still felt too long.
Overall it's a great movie for the actors' careers. Maybe it's just the total inexperience of the crew which led to the waste of a great story.
