It's not like a musical you are familiar with
This is actually my first review ever on IMDB because I felt like it was really needed!
First of all, if you're hoping to watch a normal musical series, this one isn't... There are songs with dancing, but not that many as usual. I personally like this new approach with less musical scenes because they should support and guide you further through the story, not making you forget that you're actually watching a story... It's not the Voice or Idols!
I did almost not watch this series because of the low IMDB grade, but tried it anyway.
I think this show started with a low grade because of people who were wishing for a new typical musical show + because the actors are lipsyncing and you're hearing the voices of the original singers. So it's NOT because the actors aren't good because they are very good, so is the story!
I did found the lipsyncing a bit weird in the beginning as well because I didn't understand why they chose this approach and because I've never seen this before, but once the 1st episode ended, I thought wow this story is so lovely and great already, can't wait to see more!!!
You get used to the lip syncing because the soundtracks support the emotions of what the character are feeling like (hence the name!!), in this case it's totally not about the singing but about what the song expresses. Acting is all about showing different types of emotions and I love that they tried this new way of supporting the story.
If you still don't like the lipsyncing after a few episodes, the story itself is really worth it and the actors are really good, don't worry about it!
