Trivia

Originally David Selby was to play the role of Lazarus Rukh / Gaspard in Doctor Mabuse: Etiopomar (2014), but other commitments prevented him from appearing in the film, and the role was dramatically revised to that of Sora Rukh / Gabelle and essayed by Kelly Erin Decker, in her first collaboration with Ansel Faraj and Nathan Wilson. In this film, David Selby and Kelly Erin Decker are enemies. See more »

Goofs

Within the church when facing the pulpit, one can see the Christian Flag in the left corner. The scenes with David Selby at the pulpit are in the past in 1880, the year Mary Jane Terlinden was executed. The Christian Flag did not exist in 1880. The flag was established in the 20th century and was officially adopted by the Christian Council of Churches in 1942. See more »

An Ax Cut Above
3 October 2019 | by gandlgallSee all my reviews

Loon Lake is a surprisingly good horror/ghost story film with production values that bely its small budget. The photography, music, and acting are a cut above the usual independent film. It is fun to see an old pro like David Selby playing multiple roles, but I was most impressed with Kelly Erin Decker (listed in the credits as Kelly Kitko). Her performance as the accused witch is controlled and convincing. Her portrayal of the character is eerily frightening without resorting to histrionics.

The plot may not be groundbreaking, but the movie maintains one's interest throughout. So, if you like a good horror flick, give Loon Lake a try
