"The Legend of Lizzie" opened on Broadway at the 54th Street Theatre on February 9, 1959 and closed the following night after a total of two performances. So it was not running in the summer when Midge comes back to New York City from the Catskills. The play was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Scenic Design and including in the cast was William Daniels as Assistant D. A. Cooper. Anne Meacham played Lizzie Borden. See more
