Storyline

Kim Ross (Witt), an aspiring romance novelist, finds herself unceremoniously dumped by her soon-to-be-published romance novelist boyfriend, Garth. She decides to take a leap and signs up for a romance writing retreat at a quaint Vermont Inn shortly before Christmas. There, a top romance novelist is scheduled to attend. Shortly after Kim's arrival she meets Zeke, whom she finds to be intrusive. As luck would have it, he ends up being her assignment partner and worse yet, the ex-boyfriend is also at the retreat. Despite various bumps Kim manages to step outside her comfort zone, surprising herself. Even more surprising is the unstoppable attraction that seems to be building between her and Zeke, that will change her life in ways she never imagined. Based on the bestselling novel by Richard Paul Evans. Written by nadawi95

Trivia

Between 7-9 mins in the movie there is a cut scene of a street lined with Holiday Wreaths, this cut scene is not of a place in British Columbia, it is actually filmed in a town in the United States. South Main St. Phillipsburg, New Jersey, for those who live here it is easy to pick out the familiar Stockton St. Street sign and the Signs in the background for The River of Life Church and other known town sites. They have a little debate going locally that really could have been settled by the producers adding in a note to the credits that indeed at least on scene came from the good ole USA in Phillipsburg NJ. Goofs

Kim tells Zeke that she was embarrassed to be paired with him as a writing partner because of 'the face plant earlier'. But in the earlier scene that Kim is referring to, she slipped on ice and landed flat on her back in front of Zeke, not on her face. See more »

One of my Favorites!

I love this movie! Alicia Witt is delightful as always, David Alpay is charming and interesting and it all comes together! The supporting characters ring true to every writing class I've ever participated in. It's also a bit of a different story but with the classic Hallmark cozy settings!
