The neurotic Fikret and tavern singer Solmaz, whose 21 year long relationships end on the same day, meet through a funny coincidence. When Solmaz's daughter Zeynep decides to marry her lover from Adana, the ever-fearful Fikret ends up having to play the role of his life. Intended at first to be kept in the fami-ly, the wedding becomes a much bigger event upon the insistence of the groom's relatives. Can our heroes come to terms with the traditional Adana fami-ly who carry guns and own a kebab restaurant chain, and see the wedding through without mishaps?Written by
The first feature film written by Gülse Birsel, In The Family was directed by Ozan Açiktan. With a spectacular cast and fast-paced humor, the film promises an unfor-gettable comedy experience. See more »
That was the movie of last five years of Turkish cinema. Don't even remember last i have that satisfaction feeling. Great scenario, screenplay, acting and of course director did a great job as well. You probably can't that much from elsewhere but gulse birsel.
It's a great action - adventure comedy with lots of going inside. I love how director skips the parts boring audience with perfect skill. For example there is TS person who released by engin gunaydin at some point but instead take that and give that cheap, usual surprise scene that he learns the fact they just ve skip and use joke much worthier elsewhere.
Second most amazing thing about that movie i am not a crime solving guy but there is lots of mystery awaits till end of the film. And most film i know lots of audience wait that flows, blowing ext. But director did it so nice and soft it gives all the expected but making it so smooth and nice that doesnt break that comedy barrier because that is a comedy movie not a crime-investigation.
Looking back a great movie that not for only Turkish people or people who knows Turkish culture well but everyone likes humor.
